Electro-Optic Systems Architect (Photonics)

What you will do

• Own the digital architecture of the Passage product from initial concept through high-volume production.
• Architect system-level digital designs integrating AMS and photonic circuits, including stabilization, line-rate DSP, FEC, CRC, and analog front-end tuning.
• Collaborate with architecture, chip design, software, RTL, design verification, firmware, test, and validation teams.
• Validate hardware against simulation predictions and support prototype testing and measurement.
• Author, review, and validate architectural specifications, customer-facing datasheets, and reference designs.
• Identify architectural improvements, execution risks, and mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience and a master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of power-efficient digital design for high-speed AMS electronics, preferably involving photonic communication channels.
• Experience with digital circuit design in high-speed analog or photonic links, including device bring-up, control, and digital signal processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills for technically ambiguous challenges.
• Strong customer communication skills and a record of timely, positive interactions.
• Capacity to comply with federally mandated U.S. export control requirements.

Nice to have

• Understanding of SerDes PCS layers, equalization, and forward-error-correction schemes.
• Interest in collaborating across hardware and software disciplines.
