Sr. Manager, Maintenance & Reliability

Location: Benson, NC, United States; regular onsite presence on the production floor is required. Must be a U.S. Person due to access to export-controlled information or facilities.

Manufactures American rare-earth permanent magnets for defense, aerospace, automotive, and other critical industries, with a focus on national security and economic resilience.

What you will do

• Design and deploy the maintenance management system, including work identification, prioritization, planning, scheduling, execution, closeout, governance, and performance standards.
• Lead CMMS and ERP maintenance deployment, including asset hierarchy, master data, PM libraries, MRO workflows, equipment BOMs, integrations, testing, training, go-live, and stabilization.
• Build the reliability program through criticality ranking, FMEA, asset strategy reviews, root cause analysis, defect elimination, bad-actor management, and predictive maintenance routes.
• Establish the central storeroom and spare-parts strategy, including criticality-based stocking, insurance spares, min/max levels, commissioning spares, vendor-managed inventory, and cycle counting.
• Build the maintenance organization, specialty trades pool, craft training and certification program, and qualified workforce ahead of line startup.
• Own maintenance safety, operating budget, equipment availability, OEE contribution, outage and turnaround execution, and contract maintenance providers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of technical education and maintenance leadership experience.
• Ten or more years of industrial maintenance and reliability experience, including five or more years leading maintenance organizations in a 24/7 process or heavy manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on deployment or configuration experience with ERP maintenance and MRO modules such as SAP PM/MM, Oracle EAM, Maximo, or Infor EAM.
• Proven experience building maintenance and reliability programs from a greenfield or low-maturity starting point.
• Experience establishing spare-parts and storeroom programs, including criticality-based stocking, plus direct accountability for maintenance safety and an operating budget.
• Must be a U.S. Person and able to work onsite in Benson, North Carolina.

Nice to have

• Ownership of a CMMS implementation, including asset hierarchy, PM library, workflow configuration, and go-live adoption.
• Greenfield or major expansion experience and PSM-regulated site experience with Mechanical Integrity ownership.
• CMRP, CRL, Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma certification.
• Experience with vacuum furnaces, thermal systems, hydraulic presses, powder and material handling, CNC tools, plating, wastewater, or utility plant equipment.
• Master’s degree or MBA.
