FPGA Engineer (Space Technology)

Location: Onsite in San Diego, California, United States. Relocation assistance may be provided to qualified candidates.

Salary: $125,000–$185,000 USD annual base salary.

What you will do

• Design and test complex, high-speed FPGA systems, primarily using Xilinx devices, for high-throughput algorithms.
• Develop embedded applications with the Xilinx Zynq family and architectures compatible with embedded Linux.
• Translate system requirements into FPGA architectures and implement designs using VHDL, SystemVerilog, and other HDL technologies.
• Design top-level system simulations, create test plans, and validate integrated performance against specifications.
• Contribute to multi-megapixel camera systems using Camera Link and SpaceWire, including imager data handling and embedded image processing.
• Support systems integration, Test Engineering, production activities, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in firmware design, integration, and testing, preferably with the Xilinx family.
• Experience implementing and documenting FPGA designs using HDL, including VHDL or SystemVerilog.
• Experience with laboratory equipment and comprehensive technical documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, learn new technologies quickly, and collaborate effectively.
• Must be a U.S. Person and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance and any required export authorizations.
