Senior Software Engineer - Embedded Network

Location: Carlsbad, California; Linthicum Heights, Maryland; Tampa, Florida; Marlborough, Massachusetts; or Tempe, Arizona. The role is a US Government position and requires US citizenship and an active DoD Secret Clearance.

Salary: $165,000–$260,500 annually. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area, the range is $205,000–$307,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design, refactor, maintain, and integrate software across existing and upcoming product lines.
• Develop embedded systems software for secure network products.
• Design, develop, and integrate high-speed, scalable network software, including protocols, device drivers, and data-plane components.
• Work on cybersecurity software and systems engineering within an agile multidisciplinary team.
• Clarify requirements and support development, integration, automation, testing, and final product certification.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience using C/C++ in embedded environments.
• 10+ years of experience designing and developing network software.
• 7+ years of Linux experience, preferably in embedded environments, including Linux networking and kernel module development.
• Experience with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, IPSec, MACsec, and TLS, plus object-oriented software development.
• Experience with Agile Scrum, CI/CD software, and planning, tracking, and reporting progress.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience; US citizenship and an active DoD Secret Clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with DPDK, network applications and services, and network acceleration.
• Experience with Xilinx Vivado and Petalinux, bare-metal device drivers, and embedded processors such as NIOS, ARM, or RISC-V.
• Experience with multithreaded and real-time development, RESTConf interfaces, emulation environments, Python, and standalone embedded applications.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
