Specialist, Direct Procurement (Battery & Powertrain)

Location: Novi, Michigan, or Charlotte, North Carolina; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and business travel

Salary: $90,000–$112,500 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus

What you will do

• Identify and evaluate suppliers for battery and powertrain parts and services, including pre-sourcing audits.
• Develop commodity sourcing strategies and business plans, and lead sourcing through contract award.
• Present sourcing strategies to multi-level sourcing committees and negotiate contracts and nomination agreements.
• Manage supplier industrialization during pre-production, ensuring timing, cost, quality, and project requirements are met.
• Evaluate technical changes and coordinate supplier readiness for mass production with Quality, Engineering, and Logistics.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance using key performance metrics.

Requirements

• 4+ years of purchasing experience developing and executing procurement commodity strategies.
• Negotiation experience in automotive battery and powertrain commodity purchasing.
• Knowledge of automotive, manufacturing, or related industries.
• Experience managing supplier performance and programs.
• Analytical, communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across multiple workstreams.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
