Equipment Operator I (Forklift)

What you will do

• Operate fork trucks and related machinery to load, move, and position equipment and materials.
• Coordinate machine movements with coworkers using hand or audio signals.
• Inspect equipment before use and perform basic operator maintenance on fork trucks.
• Follow safety regulations and monitor operations for hazards and compliance with health and safety standards.
• Check fuel supplies and locate materials using project numbers and piecemarks.

Requirements

• Experience operating a forklift in an industrial manufacturing facility.
• Ability to read and interpret typed reports and schedules.
• Ability to perform basic operator maintenance on fork trucks.
• Ability to complete on-site training and demonstrate safe machinery operation.
• Clear Motor Vehicle Report.
• High school diploma or equivalent and certifications or prior moving-machinery experience are preferred.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of material handling, banding, palletizing, and loading materials onto trucks.
• Forklift or other moving-machinery certifications.
