Release of Information Specialist II (Healthcare)

Location: Staten Island, NY, USA; primarily onsite at a hirify.global facility or client site, with remote work possible in some instances

Salary: $19–$21 per hour

hirify.global provides software and operational services for processing medical record release requests.

What you will do

• Process medical release-of-information requests accurately and efficiently.
• Enter and manage request data using hirify.global software applications.
• Organize records, documents, forms, and authorizations to complete the release process.
• Support the resolution of HIPAA-related release issues and maintain confidentiality.
• Provide customer service in person, by phone, and by email according to location requirements.
• Attend required training and support the effective operation of the department.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of medical records experience and 2 years of clerical or office experience.
• Experience using desktop computers, scanners, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read and interpret medical records, forms, and authorizations.
• Ability to work independently and maintain strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and state regulations related to releasing protected health information is preferred.

Nice to have

• Some college education.
• RHIT certification.
• Experience in a healthcare setting.
