Design Engineer Intern

Location: Onsite in Piedmont, South Carolina, USA

What you will do

• Design and detail purchased items, machining, weld, and assembly prints in SolidWorks.
• Support manufacturability, cost effectiveness, safety, and design updates.
• Assist Engineering Technicians with building and testing prototypes.
• Analyze production issues and help develop solutions.
• Calculate unknown loads and directions using available data and assumptions.
• Develop bills of materials and test design changes made by technicians.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Mechanical, Industrial, Agriculture, or Electrical Engineering.
• High school diploma required.
• Knowledge of FEA, hydraulics, electronics, statistics, strength of materials, durability, and product serviceability.
• Ability to identify root causes of defective parts and evaluate component sizing, materials, fatigue strength, and manufacturability.
• Ability to produce accurate, professional, error-free documentation and communicate effectively.
• Ability to work onsite at a hirify.global campus in Piedmont, South Carolina.
