Senior White Space Design Engineer

Location: Livingston, NJ; New York, NY; Sunnyvale, CA; San Francisco, CA; or Bellevue, WA

Base salary: $143,000–$210,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus, equity awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and review white space layouts, infrastructure designs, specifications, details, and engineering documentation.
• Maintain and improve the White Space Basis of Design, technical standards, and reference designs.
• Design and coordinate high-density electrical systems, including PDUs, RPPs, busways, branch circuits, rack power distribution, and grounding.
• Design and coordinate mechanical and cooling systems, including remote CDUs, liquid-cooling distribution, fan walls, and hot aisle containment.
• Review structured cabling, ladder rack, cable tray, overhead conveyance, and network pathways with Network Engineering.
• Support construction, commissioning, and deployment by reviewing drawings and submittals, resolving design issues, and coordinating consultants and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Network, Low Voltage/Cabling, or related Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in data center design, mission-critical infrastructure engineering, or white space design leadership.
• Direct experience with PDUs, RPPs, busways, branch circuits, hot aisle containment, remote CDUs, fan walls, and high-density cooling.
• Experience overseeing third-party design consultants and reviewing construction drawings, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and design changes.
• Hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Asana, Smartsheet, or equivalent tools, plus knowledge of TIA-942, BICSI, ASHRAE, NFPA, and Uptime Institute standards.
• Access to export-controlled information requires U.S. person status, eligibility without export authorization, or eligibility and reasonable likelihood of obtaining the required authorization.

Nice to have

• PE, RCDD, or PMP certification.
• Experience with hyperscale, HPC, or high-density compute environments.
• Familiarity with capacity planning, scalability modeling, and design standardization.
