Engineer I - Design (Engineering Development Program 2027)

Location: Pella, Iowa, USA — onsite at the hirify.global corporate office. Occasional travel is expected.

What you will do

• Research, design, document, build, and test new equipment and design solutions.
• Analyze engineering data and develop CAD models to optimize designs.
• Use SolidWorks, PDMWorks, ECN tools, and other design software to produce prototype parts.
• Test design changes to improve machine performance and reliability.
• Develop test plans, submit corporate test requests, participate in testing, and process test data.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, support production questions, and contribute to project execution.

Requirements

• Four-year degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Agricultural, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
• Knowledge of FEA, hydraulics, electronics, engine systems, statistics, strength of materials, durability, and product serviceability.
• Ability to identify root causes of manufactured or purchased component failures.
• Ability to design for material strength, fatigue resistance, manufacturability, and product reliability.
• Ability to use mechanics tools, wrenches, assembly tools, drill presses, lathes, band saws, and power tools.
• Ability to manage time and resources, respond to production issues, and work effectively with internal teams.
