Cost Analyst (DoD Contracting): Managing budgets, forecasts, invoices, cost data, and project schedules for government contracts with an accent on cost control, financial reporting, and FAR/DFARS/CAS compliance. Focus on analyzing cost and schedule variances, maintaining Microsoft Project baselines, supporting audits and program reviews, and coordinating funding, subcontractor, and intercompany data.
Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States. Office-based environment; a hybrid work schedule may be available depending on company policy and contract requirements. Occasional travel may be required for program reviews, customer meetings, or audits.

supports contracts within its Cyber and Technology Group, including DoD-related financial and program management activities.
What you will do
- Develop, monitor, and maintain project and enterprise budgets, forecasts, cost baselines, and funding data.
- Track labor, material, subcontractor, licensing, and asset costs; research variances and perform cost and schedule analysis.
- Prepare accurate invoices and financial reports in accordance with contract and DoD requirements, including WAWF/iRAPT.
- Maintain project schedules and align milestones, deliverables, funding, and costs in Microsoft Project.
- Track contract modifications, license renewals, subcontractor financial data, intercompany charges, and cost allocations.
- Provide financial documentation and analysis for audits, program reviews, customer meetings, Program Managers, and executive leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of project control, financial management, or program analysis experience in a DoD contracting environment.
- Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and government contracting principles.
- Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Deltek Costpoint, Microsoft Project, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance if required.
- Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Nice to have
- Exposure to Earned Value Management concepts and reporting.
- Familiarity with government invoicing systems such as WAWF/iRAPT.
- Experience with government contract financial data, audits, or program reviews.
