What you will do

• Perform aircraft maintenance, inspections, servicing, repairs, and full system checkouts in accordance with technical instructions, drawings, and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot aircraft structures, engines, landing gear, flight controls, anti-icing, pneumatic, hydraulic, ventilation, and heating systems.
• Repair, replace, rebuild, and install aircraft structures and components using hand tools, power tools, test equipment, sheet-metal equipment, welding equipment, and lifting devices.
• Lead engine and gearbox removal and installation, rigging, and track-and-balance procedures.
• Document completed work, maintain tools and work areas, conduct FOD walks, and follow DHS, DOD, safety, and quality-assurance procedures.
• Provide technical direction and training to Aircraft Mechanic Helpers and Aircraft Workers and collaborate with engineers on modification work orders and drawings.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and 10 years of aviation experience, including 4 years working with military standards and specifications.
• Experience with aircraft maintenance concepts, practices, procedures, instruments, technical documentation, and special test equipment.
• Ability to carry up to 40 pounds and work in cramped or awkward positions, on ladders, platforms, scaffolding, and aircraft structures.
• Ability to pass drug and background screening and obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, customer-service, documentation, and independent-work skills.
• FAA A&P certification is preferred.

Nice to have

• Maintenance experience on aircraft such as UH-60, AH-64, CH-47, MC-130J, C-130, V-22, and related platforms.
• FAA A&P certification.
