Medical Assistant - Wound Center - Boston

Location: Tufts Medical Center, Boston, United States

Salary: $22.00–$25.15 per hour, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Manage patient flow, room utilization, and communication of delays in the outpatient setting.
• Prepare patients, exam rooms, medical records, and equipment for provider visits.
• Record vital signs, pain levels, medication information, and patient history.
• Assist providers and nursing staff with examinations, treatments, procedures, specimen collection, and immunizations as needed.
• Perform point-of-care testing, equipment quality checks, and inventory maintenance.
• Support referrals, prior authorizations, diagnostic and surgical scheduling, billing documentation, scanning, and administrative communication.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Completion of a clinical program or six months of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to read, write, and spell in English for documentation and message taking.
• Knowledge of universal precautions, patient handling, patient safety, HIPAA, and care across different age groups.
• Organizational, interpersonal, computer, and electronic medical record skills, including EPIC.

Nice to have

• Two years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems.
