Salary: $19.50–$27.50 per hour, plus possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour

What you will do

• Provide member service, identify needs, assist with purchasing decisions, resolve concerns, and promote products and services.
• Stock, organize, clean, price, and maintain optical merchandise displays and the sales floor.
• Assist with eyewear and contact lens orders, frame and lens measurements, adjustments, repairs, prescription verification, and related documentation.
• Operate registers and process purchases, payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges.
• Collect payments for doctor services and perform and record optometric pre-test results.
• Handle optical claims, returns, damages, shrink, inventory, paperwork, and required logs.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent upon entry or within 12 months of hire.
• Meet applicable requirements to work as an optical associate, including age, registration, certification, or state board requirements.
• Obtain American Board of Opticianry certification within 15 months of hire or job entry.
• Register and maintain an NPI number when required by state law.
• Where applicable, satisfy apprentice and state optician licensure requirements within the specified timeframes.

• Experience in a healthcare or retail setting.
