Senior Quality and Process Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Own and maintain the AS9100/ISO9000 Quality Management System and lead internal audits, surveillance, and recertification activities.
• Manage non-conformances and CAPA initiatives, including triage, disposition, root cause analysis, and corrective-action closure.
• Analyze line yield, RMA, and test-failure data to identify reliability patterns and report quality metrics.
• Establish inspection criteria, acceptance standards, and quality checkpoints for first article, in-process, final, and receiving inspections.
• Partner with Hardware, Software, Test Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain on defect tracking, design transfer, configuration control, and supplier quality.
• Review contracts and customer requirements for quality obligations and support procedures and employee training.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in quality engineering, quality management, or manufacturing quality.
• Direct experience managing an ISO9000/AS9100 system, including non-conformances, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.
• Experience manufacturing and testing electronic assemblies containing hardware and software components; familiarity with IPC and J-Standard specifications.
• Experience implementing process improvement tools and designing experiments to measure quality control.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence process owners and functional leaders without direct authority.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain or hold a U.S. Government Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

• AS9100 Internal or Lead Auditor certification and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, aviation, transportation, or another highly regulated industry; familiarity with DO-254 and DO-178.
• Familiarity with AS9102, AS9145, PLM, configuration management, and document-control systems.
• Ability to read schematics, wire harness drawings, work instructions, and BOMs, with hands-on experience using basic test equipment.
