Sustainability Lead (AI)

Location: Must be based in or able to work from Austin, TX; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA (Hybrid)

Salary: $180,000 – $250,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Stand up the corporate GHG inventory across Scope 1, 2, and 3 for a multi-gigawatt fleet.
• Manage end-to-end sustainability disclosures including CDP, CSRD, and hyperscaler due-diligence questionnaires.
• Develop and implement water strategies and site-level stewardship plans for water-scarce regions.
• Build an auditable environmental system of record to track carbon and water metrics.
• Coordinate sustainability commitments across Design, Construction, Energy, and Supply Chain teams.
• Extend environmental standards and emissions tracking across global manufacturing and logistics.

Requirements

• Must have US work authorization.
• Proven experience building Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG inventories from scratch and defending them with auditors or regulators.
• Experience running end-to-end disclosure cycles (CDP, GRI, CSRD) on tight deadlines.
• Background in heavy infrastructure (data centers, energy, or industrial sectors).
• Ability to translate complex operational data (meter reads, fuel logs, invoices) into auditable financial-grade reports.
• Strong cross-functional leadership skills to drive commitments into contracts, specs, and permits.

Nice to have

• Expertise in renewable energy procurement (PPAs, RECs, 24/7 carbon-free energy).
• Knowledge of Lifecycle Assessment (LCA) and embodied carbon assessment (EC3).
• Familiarity with data center sustainability frameworks like EU EED or ENERGY STAR.
• Professional credentials such as CEM, LEED AP, or ISSP.
