Environmental Manager II

Location: Richland, Washington, USA (plant); ability to work off-shifts, weekends, and holidays when required.

Salary: $104,530–$156,800 annually

What you will do

• Provide strategic direction and program oversight for environmental management at a large multi-line manufacturing facility.
• Lead environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives focused on waste, water, greenhouse gases, energy, and environmental protection.
• Coach, train, and supervise environmental leaders, technicians, operators, and plant staff.
• Manage environmental KPIs, risk registers, audits, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate regulatory inspections, audits, permits, and reporting for air, industrial wastewater, PSM, TRI, stormwater, SPCC, ozone-depleting substances, and greenhouse gas emissions.
• Support capital, repair, and maintenance projects by assessing environmental and sustainability impacts and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, biology, or chemistry.
• 6–12 years of progressive experience in environmental or engineering roles.
• Expert knowledge of environmental regulations and their impact on the food industry.
• Experience developing engineering scopes for new equipment and operating environmental control systems for water supply, wastewater, air pollution, and solid waste.
• Leadership, communication, presentation, and computer application skills.
• Availability to work off-shifts, weekends, and holidays when required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering or science.
• Experience with environmental audits, sustainability data, and corporate environmental management systems.
