Algos Tech Lead (Transaction Monitoring)

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow the Transaction Monitoring engineering team, overseeing sprint delivery, code quality, and on-call health.
• Own the implementation of the off-chain transaction monitoring detection suite.
• Build on-chain transaction monitoring for wallet-level and protocol-level activity, including the supporting data pipelines.
• Design system architecture, data models, detection logic, and threshold and tuning frameworks.
• Partner with Product to translate regulatory and customer requirements into engineering plans and shape the on-chain roadmap.
• Collaborate with compliance, customer success, and solutions teams to improve alert quality, reduce false positives, and address client tuning requests.

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience, including 2+ years leading or tech-leading a team.
• Strong knowledge of fintech, payments, banking, or crypto, with an understanding of financial crime and compliance concepts.
• Hands-on expertise in data structures, algorithms, high-performance concurrent code, production debugging, and code reviews.
• Experience owning both high-level architecture and detailed implementation design.
• Experience with high-throughput, low-latency data systems, including streaming platforms such as Kafka, analytical stores such as ClickHouse or Snowflake, and distributed batch processing.
• Clear written and verbal communication with non-engineering stakeholders, plus experience with AI coding and coding harnesses.

Nice to have

• On-chain or blockchain data experience, including chain indexing, wallet clustering, or DeFi protocol mechanics.
• Experience with trade surveillance or market abuse detection.
• Experience at a RegTech vendor or in a bank, exchange, or compliance technology function.
