AI Engineer (AI & Automation)

Location: Hybrid in the San Francisco Bay Area, Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Houston, or Toronto. Full-time salaried employees must currently reside in one of the listed eligible U.S. states or Ontario, Canada.

Salary: US base pay $160,000–$210,000 or Canada base pay CA$160,000–CA$210,000, plus potential equity.

What you will do

• Own the AI agents and automation system for the insurance marketplace.
• Shape the architecture of chatbots, voicebots, computer-use agents, and other conversational interfaces.
• Build workflow automations for document validation, record disputes, and transaction orchestration with external insurance carrier systems.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and decide which capabilities to invest in and deploy.
• Partner with OpenAI to evaluate and deploy next-generation voice models and workflow automation.
• Ship reliable AI and automation systems to production.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally with end-to-end ownership in an early-stage startup.
• Experience putting LLM-based systems into production.
• Ability to evaluate competing AI architectures and rapidly test new models.
• Experience with evaluations, regression management, latency, cost, and failure handling for AI systems.
• Experience with TypeScript, NestJS, React, GraphQL, AWS, and LLM platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or Google Gemini.
• Must currently reside in an eligible U.S. state or Ontario, Canada.
