Internal Tools Engineer (AI)

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)

Salary: $150,000 – $180,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Own internal tools end-to-end, from problem discovery and architecture to rollout and maintenance.
• Build AI-powered systems for document parsing, agentic workflows, and automated research.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leads to identify operational bottlenecks and translate them into technical solutions.
• Drive AI enablement across the company to ensure team-wide proficiency with internal tools.
• Support the external analytics layer within the platform and assist the deployment team during implementations.

Requirements

• 2 to 5 years of experience in engineering, data, or applied AI.
• Proven track record of shipping end-to-end internal tools or automations that are actively used by a team.
• Genuine fluency with AI tools and experience shipping production-grade AI solutions.
• Strong SQL skills and data modeling proficiency.
• Ability to translate vague stakeholder requirements into appropriately scoped technical projects.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience building internal tooling for large teams undergoing workflow changes.
• Background in forward-deployed or solutions engineering at an AI or developer tools company.
• Deep knowledge of N8N or Zapier, including understanding when to avoid them.
• Experience building software in regulated environments like government or healthcare.
