Location: Vancouver Campus, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The role is a full-time, tenure-track faculty appointment. Selected Canada Impact+ Emerging Leader nominees must be working and residing outside Canada when the award is accepted on July 1, 2026; expatriate Canadians wishing to relocate to Canada may apply.
Salary: CAD 140,000–160,000 per annum.

What you will do
- Establish and lead a research program in Global Health Engineering and Equitable Health Technologies.
- Develop, translate, implement, and evaluate technologies that improve health outcomes and advance health equity across diverse populations and resource settings.
- Create solutions for disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, rehabilitation, and healthcare delivery.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, communities, patients, health authorities, public health organizations, and other stakeholders to develop scalable technologies.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate biomedical engineering courses, mentor learners, and contribute service to the university and academic communities.
- Use the Conconi Family Biodevice Foundry and other infrastructure for technology development, prototyping, validation, and deployment.
Requirements
- MD and/or PhD, with eligibility for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor at .
- Current or potential eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer or Limited Licensee with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
- Established or emerging research program in Global Health Engineering, Equitable Health Technologies, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Expertise in healthcare technologies such as diagnostics, biosensors, medical devices, therapeutics, vaccines, digital health platforms, or AI-enabled solutions.
- Evidence or strong potential for excellence in research, teaching, mentorship, and scholarly activity.
- Ability to build interdisciplinary and community-engaged partnerships and commitment to inclusive research, training, and learning environments.
Nice to have
- Experience in technology translation, implementation science, commercialization, intellectual property, licensing, venture creation, or industry partnerships.
- Experience working with rural, remote, Indigenous, or other underserved communities.
- Experience using data science, artificial intelligence, or digital technologies in health research or healthcare delivery.
