AI Engineer (LLM)

Location: New York City; in-person 5 days a week

Salary: $150K–$220K plus equity

What you will do

• Build and ship AI-native product experiences used by clinicians and patients.
• Design and develop LLM-powered systems and agents that automate and augment complex healthcare workflows.
• Own AI features end-to-end, from prototyping and experimentation through production deployment, evaluation, and iteration.
• Build evaluation, monitoring, and feedback systems to improve AI quality, reliability, and performance.
• Work across models, prompts, tools, retrieval systems, and application infrastructure.
• Collaborate with clinicians and engineers to identify high-impact healthcare applications for AI.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building and shipping LLM-powered applications or AI products in production.
• Fluency in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Experience with modern LLM APIs, agentic systems, tool calling, retrieval, structured outputs, or similar applied AI patterns.
• U.S. work authorization and availability to work in person in NYC five days per week.
