Senior Medical Malpractice (Insurance)

Location: Hybrid, based in York, London or Colchester, United Kingdom, with up to three office days per week and regular travel between offices and broker meetings.

What you will do

• Manage and grow the schemes portfolio across the healthcare, beauty and wellbeing sectors.
• Underwrite complex business, handle broker referrals and deliver high-quality broker service.
• Identify, develop and grow new business opportunities, including cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
• Shape underwriting strategies, develop new products and propositions, and support profitable portfolio growth.
• Monitor emerging risks, exposures and regulatory updates across relevant sectors.
• Manage strategic broker relationships and mentor junior members of the underwriting team.

Requirements

• Strong relevant experience in medical malpractice, healthcare or professional indemnity underwriting.
• Experience with schemes business or delegated authority arrangements is advantageous.
• Ability to make confident underwriting decisions in complex and challenging situations.
• Strong communication, influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• ACII qualified or actively working towards the qualification.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively and travel regularly as required.

• Experience writing casualty or property lines of business.
• Degree qualification or relevant insurance qualifications.
• Experience developing new commercial opportunities.
