New Business Underwriter (Care & Charity)

Location: Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, London or Croydon, UK; hybrid working with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home

hirify.global is a specialist insurer with an established Care, Social Welfare and Charity insurance business.

What you will do

• Underwrite and win new business across the Care, Social Welfare and Charity sectors.
• Assess submissions, review claims experience and evaluate risk exposures.
• Produce competitive quotations while maintaining underwriting discipline.
• Manage individual new business income targets and identify opportunities for profitable growth.
• Build broker relationships, support broker development and deliver training or proposition discussions.
• Collaborate with Distribution, Trading and Operations teams while representing the Care proposition in the broker market.

Requirements

• Previous underwriting experience, including Care Insurance or Charity Insurance experience.
• Experience in new business underwriting.
• Strong commercial judgement and decision-making capability.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and broker engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage workload and take a proactive approach to business development.

Nice to have

• Existing broker relationships.
• Experience presenting to brokers or delivering training sessions.
• Social Welfare underwriting exposure.
• Ambition to progress within a specialist insurer.
