Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Derwood, Maryland, USA; onsite

Salary: $39.86–$53.08 per hour

What you will do

• Perform mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, fabrication, pipefitting, rigging, assembly, and disassembly on plant equipment.
• Dismantle, overhaul, reassemble, and adjust turbines, generators, boilers, pumps, valves, and auxiliary systems.
• Inspect, lubricate, and adjust rotating machinery and other plant equipment to maintain efficient operation.
• Perform heavy lifting, rigging, welding, piping repairs, valve packing, and integrity testing.
• Plan assigned jobs using sketches, blueprints, and complex technical drawings.
• Work on the second shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Requirements

• GED or high school diploma, or five years of related experience.
• Experience with boilers, cranes, soot blowers, motors, turbines, condensers, or conveyors is beneficial.
• Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Ability to wear a full-face respirator and work consistently in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to support a safe and inclusive workplace and deliver results through trust.
