Principal Engineer Technical Safety (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)

Location: Geel, Antwerp, Belgium; onsite role

Salary: €79,800–€137,770 annual base pay

What you will do

• Act as the central technical safety contact for the ATLAS capacity expansion project.
• Translate technical safety standards and regulatory requirements into actionable design and execution requirements.
• Guide and challenge external engineering partners while coordinating maintenance, engineering, operations and EHS stakeholders.
• Own technical safety knowledge for the project and coordinate specialist input across functional safety, ATEX, PED, machine safety and process safety.
• Identify risks and improvement opportunities early and support engineering activities through completion.
• Contribute to the site Technical Safety and Process Safety Management teams.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in engineering, preferably chemical engineering, process engineering or process safety.
• Relevant technical safety experience in the pharmaceutical, chemical or process industry.
• Ability to make and explain well-reasoned technical safety decisions.
• Strong communication and influencing skills for multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• Ability to balance broader project objectives with critical engineering details.
• Proactive, collaborative approach and willingness to develop expertise across technical safety disciplines.
