What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks and equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, engines, suspension, drivetrains, steering, HVAC, and braking systems.
• Maintain hydraulic, electrical, air brake, and vehicle control systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, basic tire work, welding, and fabrication.
• Use electronic diagnostic tools to identify malfunctions and multi-system issues.
• Provide road service when necessary to return company equipment to safe and efficient operation.
• Complete required company training and other assigned maintenance duties.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in a technician role involving gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment diagnosis and repair, or graduation from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next 3 months.
• Experience with or knowledge of Class 1–5 light/medium-duty and Class 7–8 heavy-duty trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• Ability to perform basic inspections and diagnose systems including suspension, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Knowledge of work-order labor-time standards and ability to work with limited supervision.

Nice to have

• Automotive Service Excellence certifications T1–T8.
• Commercial Driver’s License.
