IT Business Analyst

Location: Washington, D.C., United States

Salary: $126,000–$145,000 per year, plus potential discretionary bonuses

What you will do

• Elicit, document, prioritize, and communicate business requirements for applications, data management, storage, and commercial software solutions.
• Represent internal clients throughout the application lifecycle and help improve business processes.
• Work with Business Relationship Managers, project managers, product owners, technical stakeholders, and legal practice teams to develop business cases and benefits realization plans.
• Evaluate and select solutions that fit business requirements, then support implementation and business adoption.
• Develop acceptance criteria and assist with test planning, execution, and user acceptance testing.
• Follow solution delivery lifecycles, coordinate project resources, and support transition of deliverables into business-as-usual operations.

Requirements

• Experience as a business analyst in a business change or project-based environment.
• Experience with IT projects and awareness of Waterfall and Agile software development methodologies.
• Strong analytical, requirements documentation, communication, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio or a similar process documentation tool.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet challenging deadlines, and collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience in a law firm or similarly professional services environment.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or a similar project management tool.
• Consulting experience delivering end-to-end business solutions.
