Certified Pharmacy Technician I

Location: In person at Beutel Health Center on the Texas A&M main campus in College Station, Texas

University Health Services supports Texas A&M students through integrated physical and mental healthcare as part of Texas A&M Health.

What you will do

• Prepare prescription orders and assist with pharmaceutical distribution.
• Answer basic customer questions in person and by phone, locate items, and refer medication-related questions to the pharmacist.
• Receive, stock, review, and dispose of prescription and over-the-counter medications.
• Participate in bi-annual physical inventory and maintain the general appearance of the pharmacy.
• Assist with scheduling and training student workers and support staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certification from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, maintained throughout employment.
• Ability to multitask, collaborate, manage time, prioritize work, communicate effectively, and maintain confidentiality.
• FERPA and HIPAA training is required upon employment and on a recurring basis.
• Availability for work beyond normal office hours and/or on weekends may be required.

Nice to have

• Two years of pharmacy technician experience.
• Experience in a college health pharmacy environment.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
