Senior Physician Billing Specialist (Healthcare)

Location: Remote nationwide within the United States; must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States. Travel to and onsite work at client, temporary, or corporate offices may be required based on business needs.

Salary: $18.65–$20.50 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Review and update failed bills and claims across host systems and billing vendors.
• Process electronic submissions and 277 reports while resolving claim issues.
• Monitor claim errors, recommend system improvements, and manage late charges and rebills.
• Prepare hardcopy claims, attach supporting documentation, and retrieve EOBs and medical records.
• Contact patients, insurers, and third parties to obtain insurance and billing information.
• Create training documents and tests, deliver training, and support absentee staffing coverage.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant work experience.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• CPB certification and billing experience with multiple payers or subject-matter expertise with one payer.
• Basic computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.
• Ability to pass a mock training session and demonstrate openness to innovation, including AI.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States; applications from outside the United States will not be considered.

Nice to have

• Two years of an accredited degree or equivalent experience.
