Pricing Analyst (Specialty Pricing)

What you will do

• Develop statistical analyses of underwriting and claims experience for ratemaking and management reports.
• Conduct rate reviews, create regulatory filings, and implement rate changes across commercial, powersports, recreational vehicle, boat, and personal umbrella insurance segments.
• Analyze and project loss trends and contribute to profitability analysis and business decision-making.
• Present analyses and proposals to stakeholder groups and partner with Product Management and Actuarial Reserving.
• Develop and improve analytical tools to streamline processes and improve pricing work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Data or Business Analytics, another quantitative field, or any degree combined with prior quantitative analytics experience or an internship; degree completion by May 2027.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; all transcripts must be provided with the application.
• Must live within commutable distance of the Bethesda, Maryland office and work a hybrid schedule.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, collaboration, time-management, and organizational skills.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and basic to intermediate proficiency with R, SAS, Python, or Power BI.
• Ability to work independently, manage concurrent priorities, build project ownership, and deliver accurate and timely results.

Nice to have

• Previous internship experience in similar fields or businesses.
• Interest in pursuing an actuarial designation.
