Director, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Residency Program (Pediatric Mental Health)

Location: Remote. Requires an active PMHNP/APRN license in Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Maryland, with the ability to obtain additional state licenses as needed.

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 USD annually, based on experience, licensure, and location.

What you will do

• Design and implement the complete structure of a one-year PMHNP residency program, including duration, preclinical education, shadowing, ramp schedules, and weekly visit models.
• Build and codify a curriculum covering psychiatric interviewing, assessment, diagnosis, assessment interpretation, medication management, and therapy interventions.
• Lead the program toward accreditation by developing expertise in residency standards and Consortium for Advanced Practice Providers requirements.
• Mentor and train residents as they transition from graduate school into independent pediatric psychiatric practice.
• Create evaluation systems, provide consistent feedback, track resident progress, and develop performance improvement plans when needed.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to integrate residents into an interdisciplinary outpatient care model.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program and PMHNP-BC certification.
• Active PMHNP/APRN license in Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Maryland, with the ability to obtain additional state licenses.
• At least 3 years of experience as a CRNP, including at least 3 years in pediatric mental health.
• At least 1 year of experience in an educational or leadership role in a behavioral health setting.
• Strong clinical knowledge of evidence-based pediatric psychiatry and the ability to train, develop, and motivate medical professionals.
• Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and technology skills, including experience with Google Suite, EMR systems, and virtual platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience with residency program accreditation and CAPP requirements.
• Experience building a clinical education program from the ground up.
