People Operations Partner (Retail/Hospitality)

Location: Must be based in New York City and work in person from the Brooklyn, NY office; frequent travel across supported markets and stores is required.

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 annual base salary, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Partner with Talent Acquisition and Operations leaders on hiring strategy, interview calibration, workforce planning, and onboarding.
• Coach General Managers, Shift Leads, and Operations Managers on performance, accountability, feedback, and team dynamics.
• Lead employee relations matters and investigations from intake through resolution, maintaining thorough documentation.
• Drive performance coaching, engagement action planning, policy rollouts, promotions, succession planning, and leadership development.
• Analyze turnover, attendance, engagement, performance, and operational trends to identify risks and recommend solutions.
• Work cross-functionally with Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Training, Finance, and Operations to support business operations.

Requirements

• 4+ years of HR or People Operations experience, ideally in a fast-paced retail or hospitality environment.
• Working knowledge of labor laws and compliance requirements, including I-9s, wage and hour rules, and documentation standards.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-volume environment.
• Strong organizational, communication, follow-through, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Comfort using HR systems and tools, including HRIS, ATS, and Google Suite.
• Must be based in NYC and able to travel throughout the market as needed.
