What you will do

• Evaluate and document system architecture trade-offs across storage technology domains.
• Research and model performance, cost, and feasibility for emerging technology options.
• Maintain technology roadmap tools and associated data infrastructure, including pipelines, dashboards, and visualization tools.
• Design and build AI agents using LLMs, agent frameworks, and retrieval or tool integrations for engineering workflows.
• Research competitive storage trends, industry standards, and academic publications, then prepare reports and briefings for technology leadership.
• Track technology maturation and indicators such as areal density, interface evolution, and component trends against roadmap targets.

Requirements

• Must be pursuing an MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills, including the ability to structure ambiguous problems.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex technical topics to mixed audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams independently.
• Onsite work in Rochester, Minnesota, United States is required.

Nice to have

• Coursework or background in storage systems, computer architecture, or semiconductor technology.
• Experience building LLM applications, AI agents, agentic workflows, or ML systems.
• Experience with project management tools.
• Prior technology or engineering internship or co-op experience.
