Backend Developer (AI)

Location: Remote, Uruguay

Compensation: $45–$80 per hour; hourly rates are estimates based on anticipated project completion time.

hirify.global engages software engineering consultants to work on project-based evaluation work for a leading AI lab.

What you will do

• Design and implement multi-file coding tasks covering bug fixes, feature development, refactoring, migrations, and testing.
• Write natural-language specifications and complete reference implementations.
• Develop and extend unit and integration test suites.
• Review peer-generated tasks for correctness, clarity, realism, and alignment with expected outputs.
• Identify edge cases, ambiguities, and potential failure modes.

Requirements

• Advanced professional written English proficiency.
• 3–7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of Java, C#, or Go.
• Backend or full-stack production development experience, including testing frameworks and large, multi-file codebases.
• Experience with code reviews, refactoring, production migrations, debugging, and test generation.
