Staff Data Platform Engineer (Data Platform)

Location: Remote within the United States; Atlanta, Georgia preferred. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $200,000–$220,000 per year

What you will do

• Architect and build scalable batch and streaming data platform capabilities, including catalog, lineage, automation, and security controls.
• Develop low-latency services for streaming and near-real-time use cases such as dynamic oddsmaking, risk analysis, and deposit defaults.
• Establish model deployment, monitoring, CI/CD, observability, and operational practices for data pipelines and platforms.
• Build data exploration, lifecycle management, and self-service capabilities for data teams.
• Partner with Product, Backend Engineering, Data Engineering, and Data Science to productionize complex data and machine learning capabilities.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in platform engineering and a record of operating scalable data platforms in high-traffic production environments.
• Expertise in Python and Go, cloud services, containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, and cluster-level management.
• Experience with streaming architectures and low-latency model-inference services targeting under 100 ms.
• Experience with technologies including Spark, Flink, Kafka or Kinesis, Airflow or Argo, Iceberg, Lakehouse, Redis, Elasticsearch, databases, and REST APIs.
• Experience managing the full data lifecycle and contributing throughout development from concept to release.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience designing fault-tolerant storage, distributed processing systems, and large-scale data lakes.
• Experience building data pipeline authoring tools, orchestration systems, and AI-assisted analytics.
• Experience with data quality, compliance, lineage, secure access control, and self-service data platforms.
• Background in Daily Fantasy Sports, oddsmaking, high-frequency trading, or a similar domain.
