Associate Data Engineer (Georgia Tech Only)

Location: Miami, United States; candidates must be able to be based in Miami and authorized to work in the United States. The role is for Georgia Tech students graduating between December 2026 and June 2027 and starts in May or June 2027.

Salary: $85,000–$115,000 per year, plus equity incentive and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and maintain Databricks data pipelines using SparkSQL and PySpark.
• Ingest, transform, model, and validate data from platform databases, payer files, provider and claims systems, and third-party APIs.
• Maintain automated inbound and outbound file exchanges for eligibility, claims status, and reporting.
• Develop Looker dashboards and downstream workflows used by operations, finance, and care navigation.
• Write tests and validation checks, participate in design and code reviews, and maintain data quality.
• Use AI coding agents responsibly while protecting PHI through governance, access controls, and audit logging.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. graduation between December 2026 and June 2027, with Georgia Tech eligibility required.
• Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of Python for data processing.
• Exposure to Databricks, Spark, or a similar distributed data-processing tool through coursework, an internship, or a personal project.
• Understanding of how data moves from source systems into a warehouse or lakehouse and into reports.
• Ability to explain technical decisions, communicate clearly, and work comfortably with ambiguity.
• Authorization to work in the United States and ability to be based in Miami.

Nice to have

• Production experience with a data pipeline or report through an internship or co-op.
• Experience with Looker, Tableau, Power BI, AWS, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Experience building tools, harnesses, evaluations, or agents on top of LLM or agent APIs.
• Exposure to healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, or DICOM, or to claims and eligibility data.
• Coursework or projects involving statistics, data modeling, or data warehousing.
