Data Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site at designated U.S. or Stuttgart, Germany locations; must be able to work in a SCIF.

Salary: $135,000–$165,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop and maintain secure data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Build analytics-ready datasets from structured and unstructured data.
• Process and transform data using Databricks, Spark, Palantir Foundry, Maven Smart Systems, or comparable platforms.
• Apply data validation, modeling, testing, documentation, and data-quality practices.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, technical stakeholders, and mission stakeholders.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance are required; some assignments may require TS/SCI clearance.
• On-site work in a SCIF is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, engineering, information systems, mathematics, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, software development, data analytics, or enterprise platforms.
• Experience with Python, ETL/ELT pipelines, data transformations, data validation, data modeling, and data-quality practices.
• Familiarity with SQL, Spark or PySpark, Databricks, version control, testing, documentation, and Agile development.

Nice to have

• Experience with Palantir Foundry, Maven Smart Systems, or War Data Platform.
• Exposure to Docker, CI/CD, MLflow, APIs, Terraform, AWS, or Azure.
• Familiarity with Department of Defense data environments, classified networks, or Combatant Command support.
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
