Automotive Technician B Tech (Automotive)

Location: Council Bluffs, United States; onsite automotive service role.

Salary: $19.57–$31.62, with flat-rate, performance-based compensation.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to customers and other non-technical individuals.
• Assist with and train technicians and mechanics on technical activities.
• Stay current with automotive technology through paid formal training.
• Obtain or maintain ASE certifications in at least three areas from A1–A8 within the first two years.

Requirements

• Valid automobile driver's license required at all times, with the ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Demonstrated skills in brake and hydraulic systems, or steering, suspension, and alignment.
• Experience with general automotive maintenance and tire repair.
• Current federal, state, and local certifications or licenses where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people, with reading, writing, and math skills.
• Preferred: three years of automotive repair experience, a vocational-technical program, or demonstrated skills through assessments or certifications.

Nice to have

• A.S.E. certification in at least one area from A1–A8; L1 certification is acceptable.
