Facilities Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift

Location: Stafford, Connecticut, United States; onsite, 1st shift

What you will do

• Maintain and repair industrial facilities, production equipment, grounds, and building systems.
• Complete carpentry, framing, remodeling, painting, roofing, window, and construction-finishing projects.
• Perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, irrigation, grounds, and snow-removal maintenance.
• Operate manual and power tools, trenchers, and soil augers while troubleshooting facility and electronic equipment.
• Document maintenance requests and preventive-maintenance work, communicate incomplete work, and coordinate with subcontractors and vendors.
• Follow environmental, health, safety, chemical-handling, PPE, export-control, and ITAR procedures.

Requirements

• Commercial or industrial carpentry and framing experience; approximately 2 years of facility-maintenance equipment experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of general maintenance practices, mechanical systems, manual and power tools, and technical or construction documentation.
• High school diploma or equivalent; general computer skills for electronic work orders, data entry, and email.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at the level required for the job.
• Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds, stand for most of 9–10-hour shifts, and work overtime, weekends, and on call.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, ability to travel by car or plane, and compliance with US export-control and ITAR requirements; access to restricted ITAR products and technical data is limited to US citizens and US permanent residents.

Nice to have

• Experience with electrical, mechanical, electronics, HVAC, plumbing, welding, flooring, or electromagnetic-equipment troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and technical as-built documentation.
• Trade license or journeyman status.
