Material and Contract Manager (MedTech)

Location: Uppsala, Uppsala County, Sweden; primarily office-based and fully onsite, with some travel to supplier sites or manufacturing locations.

Salary: SEK 614,000–1,059,150 per year, plus an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Implement materials and contract plans, including contract lifecycle management and cost-reduction strategies.
• Develop category strategies using market intelligence, demand management, sustainability, supplier diversity, and total-cost-of-ownership metrics.
• Execute material strategies to reduce costs, optimize production processes, and mitigate supplier risks.
• Coordinate cross-functional material initiatives, supplier integration plans, and external vendor reviews.
• Manage supplier communication, performance, contracted obligations, service-level commitments, and issue resolution.
• Identify process improvements, advise stakeholders on market changes, and coach junior colleagues on material and contract practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Typically 3+ years of experience in strategic material and contract management or supplier management.
• Experience with contract management, supplier performance monitoring, market intelligence, and demand management.
• Strong analytical, cost-reduction, problem-solving, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple concurrent initiatives, and coach or mentor junior staff.
• Ability to work primarily from the Uppsala office and travel to supplier or manufacturing sites as required.

Nice to have

• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Knowledge of sustainability and supplier diversity programs.
• Familiarity with e-sourcing platforms, procurement systems, and contract management tools.
• CPSM, CIPS, or a similar certification.
