Engineering Co-Op (Mechanical/Electrical Engineering)

Location: Piqua, Ohio, United States; onsite work in factory, machine shop, assembly areas, and the laboratory

What you will do

• Prepare layout drawings and assemblies, perform dimensional analysis, review mechanical components, and complete product performance calculations.
• Create and maintain Bills of Material and design new or modified products using CAD software.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, marketing, applications engineering, suppliers, and customers to address design, production, inspection, assembly, testing, and customer requirements.
• Investigate product improvement opportunities identified through testing or field performance data and develop solutions.
• Build test apparatus and run product verification tests in the laboratory.
• Provide technical assistance across departments and travel occasionally for customer and supplier liaison activities.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with modeling software; SolidWorks is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and Access.
• Strong communication, organization, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and process instructions and interpret technical procedures and regulations.
• Ability to work safely in factory settings, perform deskwork, follow up with production, assist with laboratory testing, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
