Associate Director, Product Software Engineering

Location: Porto, Portugal; candidates may be required to appear onsite at a hirify.global office during the recruitment process.

What you will do

• Lead and manage multiple related software engineering departments and guide teams toward business and product objectives.
• Make decisions on project prioritization, resource allocation, technical approaches, and delivery planning.
• Monitor development processes, framework adoption, architectural patterns, and engineering standards.
• Develop software engineering teams through coaching, performance evaluations, motivation, and career development.
• Communicate across a matrixed organization and collaborate with supervisors, peers, subordinates, and other departments.
• Ensure software products and information comply with industry standards and best practices while solving complex technical challenges.

Requirements

• Experience leading software engineering teams and managing individual and team performance.
• Knowledge of product software engineering, including software design, development, testing, deployment, and quality management.
• Experience with DevOps, automation, continuous delivery, and coordination between development and operations.
• Knowledge of cloud computing, APIs, application security, frameworks, and modern architectural patterns.
• Ability to manage resources and budgets, make strategic decisions, solve complex problems, and deliver projects effectively.
• Applicants may be required to participate in onsite interviews at a hirify.global office in Porto.
