Team Lead Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal. The role starts fully remote and will move to a hybrid setup with two days per week on site once the Lisbon office opens.

Salary: €70,000–€90,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead a product engineering team and own its growth, wellbeing, performance, hiring, and retention.
• Run meaningful 1:1s, provide developmental feedback, and support engineers’ career progression.
• Partner with Product and QA to plan and deliver reliably by removing obstacles and managing risk.
• Set standards for communication, feedback, accountability, and psychological safety.
• Contribute to architecture, technical debt, build-versus-buy, and other engineering decisions.

Requirements

• Previous experience managing and leading software engineers.
• Strong leadership skills, including handling difficult conversations, giving developmental feedback, and motivating people.
• Technical foundation in C# and .NET Core sufficient to review decisions, identify risks, and build trust with engineers.
• Product mindset and ability to connect engineering decisions with business outcomes.
• Ability to create clarity and make decisions in a fast-growing environment with changing priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure cloud development.
• Familiarity with React or other frontend frameworks.
• Experience in financial services or fintech.
