Staff Software Engineer (AI Energy Infrastructure)

Location: United Kingdom; fully remote with clear core hours.

Salary: £104,000 annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own architecture-level decisions for integration-heavy syshirify.globals connecting Origination & New Products with Rosso, Data, and Billing.
• Build and ship the first new product category, from initial development through qualified pipeline generation.
• Automate tendering and productise manual, error-prone pricing processes.
• Design deal-gating risk tooling for new commercial risk categories.
• Develop backend-first solutions in Python and AWS serverless technologies, contributing to React/TypeScript when needed.
• Write tested, maintainable code, participate in reviews, and improve engineering practices and documentation.

Requirements

• Deep backend and syshirify.globals-design expertise, including ownership of architecture-level decisions for complex integrations.
• Professional experience with Python, AWS serverless services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and EventBridge, and event-driven architectures.
• Ability to turn ambiguous, commercially driven problems into shippable plans without a complete specification.
• Experience delivering work involving critical dependencies owned by other teams.
• Track record as a Backend or Full Stack Engineer delivering complex projects end to end in a startup or fast-paced product environment.

Nice to have

• Experience mentoring engineers or setting technical direction.
• Experience in energy, fintech, or another regulated, high-stakes commercial domain.
• Exposure to workflow orchestration, event-driven syshirify.globals, real-time pricing engines, or originating new product lines.
• React and TypeScript experience.
