What you will do

  • Lead and develop an established team of 8+ data engineers through coaching, mentoring, goal-setting, and technical leadership.
  • Define and execute the data engineering strategy and modernization roadmap in alignment with product and business priorities.
  • Modernize the cloud data warehouse, orchestration layer, and engineering tooling to improve scale, performance, reliability, and data quality.
  • Set delivery timelines, performance metrics, and quality standards while maintaining strong engineering practices.
  • Partner with product, analytics engineering, and commercial teams to connect data strategy with business outcomes.
  • Represent data engineering with senior leadership and guide the adoption of scalable, secure, future-proof solutions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience leading data engineering, analytics engineering, or platform teams.
  • Strong understanding of modern data architecture, data integration, orchestration patterns, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Technical knowledge of SQL, data modeling, pipeline design, dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, and similar tools.
  • Experience with BigQuery, Redshift, or Snowflake, including performance optimization, partitioning, and data quality practices.
  • Experience defining technology or data strategy, managing stakeholders, and measuring team effectiveness through KPIs and business outcomes.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code concepts such as Terraform or CloudFormation and CI/CD practices.
