What you will do

• Own and evolve the semantic layer for BI platforms, including LookML and Canvas BI models, metrics, dimensions, and governance.
• Build and operate Looker and Sigma environments, including configuration, permissions, user attributes, content lifecycle, and API automation.
• Develop self-service tooling that reduces manual BI administration and use analytics to prioritize automation and platform improvements.
• Support BI platform migrations and deprecations across DoorDash, Deliveroo, and hirify.global while protecting access, governance, data integrity, and business continuity.
• Provide operational support, production debugging, incident response, and root-cause fixes for the BI stack.
• Apply engineering standards including version control, code review, CI, and testing for models and platform code.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in BI engineering, analytics engineering, data engineering, or a similar code-first data role.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, with hands-on use of AI tools such as LLMs, agentic workflows, or AI-assisted development.
• Hands-on experience building and configuring a BI platform such as Looker with LookML or Sigma.
• Experience with semantic or metrics layers such as LookML or dbt, including defining reusable metrics and dimensions.
• Production engineering experience with version control, code review, CI, live debugging, and operational support.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to self-organize in a fast-paced, distributed environment with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or other modern data warehousing platforms.
• Experience automating BI administration through platform APIs or managing identity and access with Okta, SCIM, or role-based access controls.
• Experience supporting BI stacks across multiple brands, tenants, or regions, or leading BI platform migrations.
