Payroll Specialist (Retail)

Location: Budapest, Hungary; hybrid working mode with 4 days from the office and 1 flexible day. This is a full-time position under a local contract.

What you will do

• Coordinate accurate, timely, and compliant end-to-end payroll execution for Hungary with an external payroll provider.
• Manage employee hires, exits, staff changes, time attendance data, absences, and overtime.
• Maintain payroll and employee files and prepare internal and external reports.
• Manage payroll-related employee benefits, including staff discount and incentive programs.
• Deliver basic payroll and time-attendance training to key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Payroll, Accounting, Area, Store Management, and Sales Market functions while supporting stores and offices.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Hungarian labor and payroll laws, legal regulations, and payroll routines.
• Proven experience in payroll roles.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with close attention to detail.
• Fluent Hungarian, spoken and written, is mandatory.
• Very good English, spoken and written, is mandatory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, plus planning, coordination, communication, and project-management skills.

Nice to have

• Retail industry experience.
• Familiarity with SAP and SuccessFactors.
