Grain Inspector Level 1

Location: 167 Lombard Ave, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Travel to other SGS or client locations may be required, along with extended hours and shift work when needed.

What you will do

• Receive, log, organize, store, distribute, and dispose of samples.
• Collect and deliver samples from client and other locations.
• Clean grain samples using dockage carters and sieves and prepare them for grading.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment, including moisture meters, scales, dockage testers, protein testers, and ELISA readers.
• Perform laboratory analyses for moisture, protein, dockage, test weight, mycotoxins, germination, and other branch-specific requirements.
• Prepare and issue initial, final, and on-site inspection reports and record analytical data.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• One to three years of laboratory or agricultural experience is an asset.
• Ability to follow work instructions accurately, safely, and on time.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong communication, time management, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada and hold a valid driver’s license.
