International Subcontract AP Specialist (Construction)

Location: Buntingford, United Kingdom; UK travel required when necessary.

Salary: £35,000–£40,000 per annum.

What you will do

• Manage subcontractor applications and invoices from receipt through payment.
• Process invoices across multiple international entities and currencies.
• Validate applications against contracts, purchase orders, project progress, and approved variations.
• Review supporting documentation before payment authorisation and monitor retentions, contra charges, back charges, and other adjustments.
• Use Microsoft Dynamics to manage supplier data, purchase orders, invoices, commitments, tax codes, currencies, accruals, and payments.
• Contribute to improved reporting, automation, and financial controls.

Requirements

• Experience in accounts payable, subcontract administration, commercial finance, or a related role in a project-led environment.
• Experience processing subcontractor applications and invoices, including international and overseas transactions.
• Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency processing.
• Knowledge of CIS, RCT, VAT, reverse charge VAT, withholding tax, and cross-border invoice documentation.
• Experience in construction, engineering, MEP, infrastructure, or data centre projects is relevant.
• Confidence using Microsoft Dynamics and Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.

Nice to have

• Experience with applications for payment, payment notices, retention, and final accounts.
• Knowledge of NEC, JCT, or FIDIC contracts.
• Experience using Power BI.
